BBQ cleaning, assembly, delivery, parts help & problem checks.
BBQ Cleaners Christchurch helps with the jobs most people put off until the BBQ starts smoking, flaring up, not lighting, not heating properly, or just looking too rough to cook on.
I’m Cam, the owner/operator. Every booking, message, clean, pickup, delivery, assembly and external parts job is handled directly by me. The goal is simple: get your BBQ cleaner, safer-looking, easier to use, and closer to how it should be running.
Not just a wipe down.
A lot of BBQs look fine from the outside but are full of grease, carbon, ash, old fat, mould, blocked burner holes, worn drip trays or rusted parts. That buildup affects how the BBQ cooks, how it smells, how much it smokes, and whether it feels nice to use.
I’m not here to pretend every BBQ can be made brand new again. Some clean up well. Some need parts. Some are too far gone. I’ll tell you the truth before wasting your money.
BBQ cleaning services Christchurch
BBQ cleaning is the core service. Whether it’s a Weber Q, Family Q, Spirit, Genesis, Traeger, Broil King, BeefEater, Ziegler & Brown, Napoleon, charcoal kettle, pellet smoker, portable BBQ or outdoor kitchen, the job is about getting the BBQ back to a proper usable standard.
Basic BBQ clean
A basic clean is a solid refresh for BBQs that are used regularly but are not completely neglected. It is best for BBQs that need a tidy-up, surface degrease and general maintenance.
- Grill and hotplate clean
- Surface degrease
- General internal tidy
- Drip tray check
- Exterior wipe down
- Basic condition check
Deep BBQ clean
A deep clean is the fuller reset. This is what I recommend if the BBQ smokes before food goes on, flares up easily, has heavy grease, mould, burnt food, carbon buildup, or has not had a proper clean in a long time.
- Internal components removed where practical
- Cookbox degreased
- Grills soaked or restored where possible
- Burner area cleaned carefully
- Drip trays and grease channels cleaned
- Exterior detailed as far as condition allows
What a BBQ clean can improve
Cleaning will not magically fix broken parts, gas faults or deep rust, but it can make a big difference when the BBQ is suffering from grease, carbon, airflow restriction, ash or years of buildup.
Heavy smoke
Old fat and carbon burn when the BBQ heats up. Cleaning removes a lot of the buildup that causes dirty smoke.
Flare-ups
Grease sitting in the cookbox, on flavourizer bars, flame tamers or drip areas can catch quickly. Less old grease means better control.
Uneven cooking
Dirty burners, blocked airflow, old grease and worn parts can all affect heat. Cleaning helps reveal what is dirt and what is actual damage.
Bad smell
If the BBQ smells stale, smoky or oily before food goes on, that is usually old grease, mould, burnt food or carbon sitting inside it.
BBQ problem checks
A lot of people contact me because their BBQ is not working properly and they do not know if it needs cleaning, a part, a reset, customer service, or a gasfitter. I can help narrow it down and tell you what direction makes sense.
BBQ will not get hot
This can be a regulator or bottle issue, blocked burner holes, grease restricting airflow, dirty burners, rusted flame tamers, worn parts, wind exposure or poor preheating.
BBQ will not ignite
This can be battery, igniter, electrode, blocked burner, no gas flow, wet wiring, flat ignition module or regulator bypass mode.
BBQ clicks but will not light
If it clicks, the igniter is trying. The issue may be gas flow, spark position, dirty electrode, blocked burner holes near the spark, or a weak spark.
Only one burner works
This can be a blocked burner, dirty crossover channel, failed electrode, wiring issue, worn burner or gas flow problem.
Yellow flame or soot
Yellow flames can mean blocked burners, poor airflow, spider webs, rust, wrong gas setup or damaged parts. If it looks unsafe, stop using it.
Pellet grill issues
Traeger and other pellet grill problems often come back to ash, wet pellets, auger jams, hot rods, fans, sensors or poor airflow.
External BBQ parts help
I can help with common external parts and general wear-and-tear items. I can also help identify the likely part from photos and point you toward the right brand support or genuine part route.
Parts I can help with
I focus on external, non-gasfitting parts and maintenance items. If the issue crosses into internal gas work, valves, gas lines, gas leaks or regulated gas repairs, that is not my lane and I will tell you to use a certified gasfitter or the brand’s customer service.
Igniters and electrodes
Ignition batteries, buttons, electrodes, basic igniter kits and obvious ignition faults where it is safe and external.
Regulators and hoses
External regulator and hose direction where the correct manufacturer-approved part is used. I do not modify gas fittings.
Grills, plates and trays
Cooking grills, hotplates, drip trays, catch pans, warming racks and replacement wear parts.
Burner area checks
Cleaning and visual checks around burner holes, blocked ports, rusted burner areas and obvious maintenance issues.
Flame tamers and bars
Flavourizer bars, flame tamers, heat deflectors and vapouriser parts that may need cleaning or replacement.
Handles, wheels and small parts
External wear-and-tear parts like knobs, handles, wheels, thermometers and some cart or trolley pieces.
Gas work note
I am not a certified gasfitter. I do not perform internal gas repairs, gas modifications, valve work, gas leak repairs, gas line work or LPG conversions.
If there is a suspected gas leak, gas smell, damaged internal gas part, unsafe flame behaviour or anything that feels dangerous, stop using the BBQ and contact the correct brand support or a certified gasfitter.
BBQ assembly and setup
New BBQs can be painful to assemble, especially larger gas BBQs, pellet grills, carts, trolleys and outdoor kitchen units. I can assemble it, position it where you want it, and give you a simple run-through.
Gas BBQ assembly
Weber, Broil King, BeefEater, Ziegler & Brown, Napoleon and other gas BBQ assembly.
Pellet grill assembly
Traeger and other pellet smoker assembly, setup and basic first-use guidance.
Carts and outdoor gear
BBQ carts, side tables, portable stands, outdoor cooking accessories and related setup where practical.
Pickup, delivery and relocation
Need a BBQ picked up, dropped off, moved, delivered from a store, or taken away for cleaning? I can help depending on the BBQ size, access, location and timing.
Store to home delivery
Bought a BBQ and need it moved safely? I can help with delivery, positioning and setup depending on location and access.
Workshop drop-off
Smaller BBQs like Weber Qs can often be dropped off or picked up for a more detailed off-site clean, especially when grills need soaking.
Moving between properties
I can help relocate BBQs between homes, rentals, businesses or outdoor areas where the job is practical and safe.
